Der Connect Account Deletion
Effective date: September 12, 2026. Step-by-step instructions to request deletion of a Der Connect account, including what we delete and what we may retain.

How to request account deletion
Der Connect does not include an in-app delete-account button. Follow these steps:
- Send an email to company@dersecur.com from the address on the Der Connect account you want deleted.
- Use the subject line: Der Connect account deletion.
- In the message, include the account email, the display name shown in Der Connect, and the sentence: Please delete my Der Connect account.
- If an organization administrator created the account for you, you may also ask that administrator to submit the same request.
We will confirm the request and complete it within 30 days. We may ask you to verify that you control the account before we delete it.
What we delete
When we process a Der Connect account deletion request, we:
- disable the account so it can no longer sign in;
- revoke sessions, refresh tokens, and push tokens for that account;
- delete or anonymize personal profile data (email, display name, avatar, and role on the Team server);
- remove that person from directory and presence lists.
Data stored only on the device (message cache and opened media) is removed when the user signs out or uninstalls Der Connect, subject to platform behavior.
What we may retain
We may retain:
- messages, voice notes, and files already delivered to other participants in shared conversations, so those users keep their history;
- call metadata (identifiers, participants, start and end times) and security or audit logs for as long as needed to operate the service or meet a legal obligation;
- backups for a limited period until they expire in the ordinary backup cycle.
We do not sell this information. We do not keep a deleted account active for advertising or profiling.
Partial deletion without deleting the account
Der Connect does not offer a self-serve way to delete some account data while keeping the account. A user can delete individual messages they sent, where the app supports that action. For other requests, contact the address above or your organization administrator.
